Stiller played a radio talk show host whose caller was obviously the devil. But, being a parody of horror shows like "Tales from the Darkside," it took a ridiculously long time for him to figure it out. In the opening minutes of "666 Park Avenue," a violinist who played with bleeding hands was punished by being sent to another dimension - or perhaps eternal damnation - while the street address of his apartment building, 999 Park Avenue, appeared upside down (666) thanks to a shadow. So, when Jane and her boyfriend Henry moved into the Drake apartment complex at the address in question, I immediately started wondering how long it would take for them to figure out that they've stepped into what could very well be the gateway to hell. Jane was hired to restore the Drake, and in her research discovered a giant rendering of a dragon on the floor in the basement. While Jane was just starting to get a bad feeling about the place, another man was apparently committing a series of murders for the owner, Gavin ("Lost's" Terry O'Quinn), and was rewarded with a visit by a dead woman he knew in the past. Soon, his time ran out before he could pay his debt, and he too was sent through the portal. Another man, tempted by a woman across the street, soon witnessed his wife horribly injured by the Drake's elevator. Just before signing on the dotted line (I'm guessing that's a mistake), Jane dreamed of a woman throwing herself off the top of the Drake, telling her she shouldn't have come and they would never let her go. Despite this, Jane (who played Rachael Taylor on last year's short-lived "Charlie's Angels") was having a great time, with a dream apartment, and Gavin's wife Olivia (Vanessa Williams) buying her fancy dresses so they can go see the orchestra. This much is clear: all of these dream-come-true scenarios come with a price, and Jane and Henry's price will likely soon be revealed. The big question is, with a limited number of main cast members, can the show stretch this concept out over many episodes or seasons? Will we see other residents of the Drake involved in deals-with-the-devil as well? And for that matter, is Gavin the devil or just a middle man? What is Olivia's role in all of this? What's the deal with Nona, who lurks around the complex and certainly seems to know something about the supernatural? And when will Jane learn the truth? One thing is for sure, Terry O'Quinn continues his excellent work as a villain, like we saw in "Lost's" final season. I've decided to keep watching.
